Terry Apparel has been supplying sewing threads and needles to the New Zeland market since 1973, originally the company was called William H Terry & Co Ltd. William H Terry & Co had been a company with two key agencies Ferd Schmetz for sewing machinery needles and Groz-Beckert for knitting machinery needles since 1949.
In 1986 William H Terry was sold to Brown and Dureau Australia.
In 1988 three key personnel and shareholders John Tudehope, John Philpott and Paul Grant of the former William H Terry & Co Ltd made the decision to form a new company, namely Terry Holdings Ltd and to continue as a supplier of quality products and to provide the industry with service as the Name Terry's had for so long been known for.
There were two major decisions that John Tudehope made when Terry Holdings Ltd was formed. The major decision was to move totally with Groz-Beckert for their complete product range, which included sewing machine needles as well as knitting, tufting and felting.
Today Terry Holdings is made up of three sister companies, being Terry Apparel, Terry Textiles and Invita NZ. This move was in April 2003.
Terry Apparel Ltd is the supplier of sewing thread and sewing needles throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific and intend to continue to move into the future as it has in past providing quality products and quality service at competitive prices.
